Let's Sail to Lanka!

The image of this sea bank, situated near Rameswaram in Tamilnadu shows mundane coastal activity.However, it stands mute witness to interesting Hindu belief. A temple of lord Rama, the great Hindu deity is also located nearby.As per Hindu mythology lord Rama's army or Vanarsena built a stone bridge to reach Lanka. Rama's wife Sita was abducted by Ravana, the king of Lanka.The historicity of the submerged bridge is widely debated.This shot was taken in Dec.2006.
